Terms of Service

1. The Service

Career Compile is an AI-powered career management platform that helps you build resumes, track job applications, generate cover letters, create learning plans, and prepare for interviews. The Service is currently provided free of charge.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained your parent or guardian's consent.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent any limits.
• You must provide accurate information when registering.
• You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@careercompile.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". All your data will be deleted within 10 business days.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data.
• Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to abuse or overload the Service.
• Upload malicious files or code.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the content you upload or create on the Service (resumes, cover letters, notes, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your content solely in order to provide the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your content. We do not use your content to train AI models or for any purpose beyond operating the Service.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI to generate or suggest content such as resume bullet points, cover letters, interview questions, and learning plans. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any content before using it in a job application or elsewhere.
• We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, and content that belong to Career Compile (excluding your uploaded content) are our property or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute them without our prior written consent.

8. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no guarantees of uptime or uninterrupted availability. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of planned maintenance.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Career Compile is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements. You use the Service at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of opportunity, or loss of profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable EU consumer law.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with GDPR.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice via the platform.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with EU law and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the European Union.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory protections afforded by the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
